Museum first, then the ridges and fields.

Start at the Museum and Visitor Center, then follow a guide, ranger program, or the official Auto Tour before ending at the National Cemetery.

An old-fashioned diner serves all-day breakfast, burgers, sandwiches, and homestyle dinners along Steinwehr Avenue near the battlefield.

Main activity

Start with the museum, film, and Cyclorama.

Allow enough time for the exhibits and panoramic painting to establish the battle's sequence before driving the preserved landscape.

4:30 PM

Afternoon

Slow down at the National Cemetery.

Set aside a quiet interval for the burial ground and Gettysburg Address rather than treating them as one more late-day photo stop.

Dinner

Return downtown for Saturday dinner.

Book the Farnsworth House Inn or Sign of the Buck near Lincoln Square—historic rooms, Pennsylvania cooking, and a table worth the walk back from a long day on the ridges.
